The Mudra of Nourishment : The Pushan Mudra

Pushan Mudra is dedicated to lord Sun.Sun,deity of new hope and beginning, also a GOD of nourishment and fulfillment. This is mudra of nourishment and digestion.

Formation of Pushan mudra

In most of the mudras, fingers of both hands are held in similar way. but in this mudra two hands will have different formation with the fingers, as discribed below:

1) Join the tip of index finger, middle finger and thumb together

2) All other fingers should be stretched straight.

Right Hand posture of Pushan Mudra

1) Join the tips of middle , ring fingers with the thumb and put slightest pressure.

2 All other fingers should be stretched striaght.

Meaning & Specialty of Mudra of Nourishment – The Pushan Mudra

The above gesture symobilises the accepting by one hand and then giving by the other hand.

Any limitation of this Mudra?

There is no limitation of this mudra. You can perform it any time and in any posture whether sitting or standing or walking. It is so easy to do, you should definitely include it in your daily practice.

    i read about pushan mudra and its benefits.but let me know the benefits of mudra if one  touches  thumb,index and middle fingers of right hand and touching thumb,ring and middle fingers of left hand.

    It is suggested that energy gets balanced in 45 minutes , but Pushan Mudra is advised for only 5 mts.  May I know the reason and what will be the effect if it is done for 45 mts.
