1. Choose a Comfortable Time

Practising yoga during morning hours is generally considered best as the air is fresh. It also keeps energy level high for the day. But if you are unable to do yoga during morning hours, then don’t let it be an excuse for skipping yoga practice. You can always go for a time slot that is most convenient to you. It could be late evening or before lunch.

2. Choose a Comfortable Place

It would be best to choose a small and private room in your house. However in case it is not possible, then choose a quite place in any of the corner of your house that is large enough to roll out your yoga mat and where you are not likely to be disturbed by others. All you need to ensure that yoga space is clean and well ventilated. There should not be any furniture or sharp objects near by. These can hurt you while doing practice.

3. Don’t consume any thing atleast 1 hour before the yoga practice

Practice on a relatively empty stomach, since it is advisable to practice yoga postures on a light
or empty stomach.

4. Keep your Yoga Wear Simple

Choose loose and comfortable clothing. You should not wear tight and body hugging outfits as these may be coming in the way of doing some wide stretches. Also say no to excessive jewellery that you are wearing and avoid heavy makeup.

5. Warm up before Starting with Intense Yoga Postures

It is always advisable to start up with some warm up to loosen the unused muscles. This may help in avoiding injury. So always start with warm up and then do few body stretches to bring flexibility,  before moving on to more intense yoga postures.
