 Assume the seated Meditation posture.

  Now hold your hands in  Apan Mudra as shown above.

 

 Now swallow the air as you are slurping water, and direct it to your abdomen.

 Arch your abdomen in a relaxed way and hold the air for a moment in this area.

 Let the air back out again by belching.

    Practice pranayams almost regularly. Can I replace them by meditation only with same benifits ?

      Pranayama is the control of breath. And based on the intensity of breathing, different results are obtained. Pranayama also helps to get into meditation. Since it helps calms down mind and hence prepare mind for meditation. So pranayama and meditation are two different techniques with varied results.
